Mindfulness Meditation Classes & Day Retreats

The Artist & Writer in You
If you've been thinking you need a day to pause, step back from your regular routine and reconnect with your creative self, here's your chance.

The Artist & Writer in You day retreats are designed to provide a space that is personalized, creative, and grounding. Using mindful practices, time in nature, journaling and creative forms of expression we tap into what's stirring within us. We have room for 5 retreatants, at $60 each, with all proceeds going to the Center For Lost Arts. Sliding scale is availabl
e if needed.

We begin at 9am and wind up around 4pm. A delicious vegan lunch is included as well as a selection of art supplies. Bring your own journal and a blanket. You're welcome to bring a yoga mat or meditation cushion as well. Although no formal yoga will be offered, it's nice to have a mat to lay down and stretch. We have plenty of room.

Considering the continued unknowns of Covid-19 waves, all participants are asked to be especially careful in their interactions in the week leading up the the retreat. If you are experiencing any flu-like symptoms or arrive home from travel within five days before a retreat, we hope you can join us at another time.  We want to offer safe spaces for everyone. Thank you for your consideration.

Mindfulness & Meditation Series

This series was previously offered publicly and is now being offered privately to small groups - suitable for your workplace, organization, extended family or group of friends/colleagues.

The Mindfulness & Meditation Series combines class instruction & experiential learning. Mindful awareness and real-life practices for your everyday life are the focus. Sessions are suitable for those who are new to meditation and/or mindfulness practices and/or those who are wanting to renew & energize mindful practices.

Part I, Foundational Techniques: We focus on posture and alignment; breath & body awareness; how to work with our busy minds & outside distractions; exploring various meditation & mindfulness practices.

Part II, Building on the Foundation: We continue practicing meditation together and begin working with mindfulness techniques that promote self-awareness and presence. The Five Skandas(reformed as The Five Conditions) give us the tools to break unhealthy patterns and have a more embodied and healthy life. Past participants share that these practices, combined with meditation have given them a sense of ease, decreased reactivity, improved relationships and a calm place to return to within themselves.

Part III, Deepening the Practice: We focus on our ongoing meditation and mindfulness practices exploring a deeper integration of our inner and outer worlds. Working with the Five Conditions in everyday life leads to less reactivity to and more intentional engagement with others.
